Walmart Introduces New Partner: A Flavorful Upgrade to In-Store Dining

Wallmart partners with Knuckies Hoagies to bring new flavor, and food diversity to the range. It’s no longer the simple burger and chips; instead, shoppers get more variety.

Knuckies has become the latest partner Walmart. The retail giant has decided to expand its food options for shoppers visiting select branches. 

Who Is Knuckies Hoagies?

Knuckies has a back history in pizza, and the founder Todd Broaderick acquired a Boston-based Pizzaria in 2017. From the unique pizza dough recipe, he partnered with Bradley Evens and developed the signature roll from which the Knuckies Hoagies sandwiches are made.

In 2020 they established the “takeout” feature due to the pandemic, and it continued to be a hit amongst customers. Today the Knuckies Hoagies eateries continue to thrive, with Walmart adding them to their retail outlets.

Knuckies Hoagies was also named in the QSR 40/40 list in 2023, which boosted the company’s reputation even more.

Not only does Walmart benefit from having Knuckies Hoagies in some of its branches, the Knuckies brand also enjoys excellent benefits from being located in Walmart stores. 

Franchise Expansion

To date, Walmart has already arranged for Knuckies in six States and in 14 retail branch locations. According to Knuckies, six of the 14 retail locations are core-focused on franchises, and they “hope to expand” the other branches in this manner too.

The retail and restaurant concept is becoming an ideal way for businesses to help each other grow and benefit from a larger customer base.

Customers from Walmart can stop over at Knuckies to enjoy a light meal, while Knucies Hoagies customers can pop in at Walmart after having something to munch. In both instances, each company benefits.

According to Walmart’s CEO, Doug McMillon, the company is laser-focused on bringing down “the cost of food prices,” especially with inflation grappling consumer’s wallets.

Walmart is said to have done extremely well even in the midst of 2024’s inflation woes and intense competition. The company’s CEO also noted the “sales growth 5.7%” and “operating profit 12.9%,” – The Street.  

Improving Customer Service & Efficiency

Everything from store remodels and curb-side pickups, according to the CEO, is doing well. The company is also making improvements to benefit customers by providing more efficient deliveries and customer service. 

Tech Upgrades at Distribution Centers

Walmart is also investing in its automated network, adding additional space to ensure there’s enough cold storage and temperature control for fresh produce and supplies. Reports say the company will also add more “robots” and “autmation” to speed things up.

Walmart has made some major store remodels that have helped improve customer experience and employee productivity. Improved check-out points, added fresh paint, and upgraded their eyewear section.

Walmart is also known for having fast food franchises like McDonalds and Subway in its stores. The recent lease partnership with Knuckies Hoagies hopes to add a new selection of sandwiches featuring their unique signature dough. With the partnership, Walmart wants to bring a new look and take on fast food with the fresh Knuckies Hoagies concept.

Variety Is Key

Walmart customers can enjoy more variety when shopping at select Walmart stores as they each offer different fast food options. Other fast food eateries you may find in your local Walmart include Domino’s, Wendy’s, Taco Bell, and Chic-fil-A, to name a few.
